My passion for dogs started long before college. My dad had two dogs when I was growing up, and from the time I was a kid, I was fascinated by how they thought, moved, and communicated. I knew early on that I wanted to understand that connection, not just as a handler, but as a student of the dog.
At the University of Notre Dame, I played linebacker and met one of the most influential people in my life, Jeff Rynearson. Jeff became a mentor and a friend, and together we explored the psychology behind canine behavior. For one of my psychology classes, we created a project where my dog and I tracked down a professor who had hidden on campus. That moment didn’t start my journey, it confirmed it. It showed me just how deep the partnership between dog and handler could go.
From there, my life became all about working dogs. One of my best experiences was campaigning Yogy Policia-Slovakia on the national scene, earning multiple accolades, including the Helper’s Favorite Award. Yogy taught me a lot about heart, precision, and connection lessons that still shape my approach today. Yogy was co-owened with my former teammate Tom Zbikowski.
I worked as the training helper for the first American K9 team to win the WUSV World Championship in Finland, with Iron von den Wolfen taking home the title of World Champion. I’ve been fortunate to coach handlers at every level, helping teams find success at club, regional, national, and world levels.
I’ve also dedicated a lot of my time to mentoring young helpers and building a strong, supportive working dog community. Along the way, I’ve learned from some of the best, who helped sharpen my technical style and approach as a helper.
At IBSO K9, my goal is simple: to bring out the best in every dog and handler team I work with. Every dog has potential, and when that’s matched with trust, structure, and purpose, the results speak for themselves.

About Lindsay Brockington – Co - Founder of IBSO K9
For over 20 years, I have dedicated myself to the world of working dogs, honing my craft and learning from the best. My journey began with a deep passion for the working German Shepherd, a breed known for its intelligence, versatility, and drive. As a result of my husband’s extraordinary talent as one of the best training helpers in the United States, I’ve had the privilege of being on the field with world champion dogs, refining my skills alongside the best in the field.
But it’s not just the thrill of working with world class dogs that fuels my passion. I find profound reward in mastering every aspect of the working German Shepherd, from health testing and drive assessments to raising and training puppies to their optimal potential. Over the years, I have developed a unique and innate ability to read a dog, understanding their temperament, needs, and learning style. This allows me to tailor training approaches that bring out the best in each dog.
One of my proudest accomplishments was breeding, raising, and training Enoch von IBSO to the national level IGP3 while raising two small children. This journey taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, adaptability, and the power of dedication.
Dogs, and the lessons they teach, are truly a mirror to life. Through training, we learn about patience, consistency, and resilience, all qualities that transcend the field and apply to every aspect of our lives. My approach to training goes beyond just teaching commands or behaviors. I strive to build a strong, lasting bond between dogs and their handlers, empowering both to reach their highest potential.
At IBSO K9, we believe that every dog has the ability to be the best they can be, and every handler has the capacity to communicate, teach, and solve problems with their dog. It’s my mission to ensure that each K9 team is not just skilled but connected, working together in a way that brings out the very best in both the dog and the handler.
